Arbitrum Bridge is a Layer 2 Optimistic Rollup solution built on top of Ethereum. It allows users to bridge assets from Ethereum to Arbitrum One, benefiting from significantly lower transaction fees — up to 10x cheaper — while fully inheriting Ethereum's battle-tested security model. Arbitrum Bridge makes decentralized finance more accessible without compromising on safety.
Bridging with Arbitrum Bridge is straightforward: 1. Connect your Web3 wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, etc.). 2. Select the source network as Ethereum and the destination as Arbitrum One. 3. Enter the amount you want to bridge and select the token. 4. Accept the Terms and Conditions. 5. Click "Move funds to Arbitrum One" and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Your funds will appear on Arbitrum One after the Ethereum transaction confirms.
Deposits (Ethereum → Arbitrum One) via Arbitrum Bridge typically take 10 to 15 minutes, depending on current Ethereum network congestion. Withdrawals (Arbitrum One → Ethereum) require a mandatory 7-day challenge period — this is a security feature of the Optimistic Rollup design and cannot be shortened on the standard Arbitrum Bridge bridge. Third-party fast bridges may offer quicker withdrawals for a fee.
Arbitrum Bridge itself does not charge additional protocol fees on top of normal gas costs. You will pay Ethereum gas fees to initiate a deposit transaction on mainnet. Once your funds are on Arbitrum One, transaction costs are dramatically lower — typically a fraction of a cent. This cost efficiency is one of the primary reasons users choose to bridge via Arbitrum Bridge.
Yes. Arbitrum Bridge is built on Arbitrum's Optimistic Rollup technology, which has undergone multiple independent security audits and is among the most trusted Layer 2 solutions in the Ethereum ecosystem. The protocol inherits Ethereum's security guarantees. Always make sure you are using the official Arbitrum Bridge URL and never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone.
Arbitrum Bridge supports ETH and a wide variety of ERC-20 tokens between Ethereum and Arbitrum One. The token list is curated and regularly updated. If your token is not shown in the default list, you can manually enter its contract address to add it. Always verify contract addresses from official sources to avoid scam tokens.
Yes. Arbitrum Bridge has a "Send to custom address" feature that allows you to specify a destination address different from your connected wallet. This is useful for sending funds directly to a hardware wallet or a different account. Always double-check the destination address — blockchain transactions are irreversible and Arbitrum Bridge cannot recover funds sent to the wrong address.
The 7-day withdrawal period is a fundamental security feature of Optimistic Rollup technology. During this window, validators (and anyone else) can challenge fraudulent transactions before they are finalized on Ethereum. This "fraud proof" mechanism is what allows Arbitrum Bridge to remain trustless and secure without requiring every transaction to be fully verified on-chain. After the challenge period expires, your funds are released to Ethereum.
Arbitrum Bridge is compatible with all major Web3 wallets. This includes MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and any wallet that supports WalletConnect v2. Hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor are also supported when connected via MetaMask or similar interfaces. Make sure your wallet has both the Ethereum mainnet and Arbitrum One networks configured.
Arbitrum One is the primary destination network for assets bridged through Arbitrum Bridge. It is an Optimistic Rollup Layer 2 that processes transactions off-chain and periodically posts compressed data back to Ethereum. This architecture enables Arbitrum One to offer high throughput and low fees while remaining secured by Ethereum. Arbitrum Bridge is the official canonical bridge connecting Ethereum mainnet to Arbitrum One.
First, check your transaction status on Etherscan (for Ethereum) or Arbiscan (for Arbitrum One) using your wallet address. You can also view your bridging history in the Transaction History tab of the Arbitrum Bridge interface. If a deposit transaction failed on Ethereum, your funds remain safely in your wallet. If it appears pending for a long time, the Ethereum network may be congested — the transaction will eventually confirm or be dropped. Do not send a duplicate transaction until the original is resolved.
